Ilaria Giannetti

Associate researcher

Historian of construction, a student of Sergio Poretti and Tullia Iori, she is a researcher (RTDb / ICAR 10) at the Università degli Studi di Roma “Tor Vergata”. Since 2012 she has taken part as a senior researcher in the project “SIXXI - History of structural engineering in Italy” (Erc Adv Grant, PI Poretti, Iori). Her research devotes particular attention to the evolution of the construction site, the iconography of engineering and the use of the structure in architecture. Her major publications include the volume: Il tubo Innocenti.” Protagonista invisibile della Scuola Italiana di Ingegneria (Gangemi, 2017).

Formerly a post-doc researcher, she is currently an associate researcher on the SNF project “Architecture in the Canton Ticino, 1945-1980”
