Riccardo Bergossi

Associate researcher

After his studies in architecture at the Politecnico di Milano, specialising in Architectural History and Architectural Restoration, he published his thesis titled Giacomo Moraglia 1791-1860, architetto. La diffusione del Neoclassico (Varese 1991). In 1999 he began teaching at the Archivio del Moderno and in 2000 obtained a three-year grant from the Swiss National Fund with the research project “Rino Tami, an architect's itinerary”. With Kenneth Frampton, he authored the monograph Rino Tami. Opera complete (Mendrisio 2008). At the Archivio del Moderno he is responsible for the research project “The architectural activity of Paolito (1874-1914) and Ezio Somazzi (1879-1934)” and curator of the analytical inventory of the archives of the architects Augusto Guidini Sr. and Augusto Guidini Jr. He is the author of numerous essays and studies on Ticinese and Lombard architectural topics in the 19th and 20th centuries.
