Giusi Boni was born in Lugano where she attended school up to high school (classical maturity). Interested in music and the arts (she followed the Brunnen "Cinema Weeks" with Freddy Buache and "Cinema and Youth" at the Locarno Film Festival), she was an animator of the Cineclub Liceo in Lugano. From 1966 she studied at the University of Geneva, where she graduated in psychology with Jean Piaget and was assistant, from 1971 to 1975, to professors Bärbel Inhelder, Jacques Vonèche and Alberto Munari.
Since 1983, he has worked with TSI, Swiss Italian-language television, in the Culture/Music departments for various publications. He produces interviews and documentaries with leading figures in many fields: for architecture with Mario Botta, Tita Carloni, Frank Gehry, Vittorio Gregotti, William J. Mitchell, Rafael Moneo; for the history of architecture with Howard Burns, André Chastel, Eduard Sekler, Dmitry Shvidkovsky.  
Since 2002 he has coordinated the "Boni Prize" at the USI-Academy of Architecture.
He has published the volumes Il mio metodo. Giuseppe Boni, from Campione d'Italia to Scotland (2014), Erica Boni, Flowers and Geometries (2017) and Howard Burns, Cards and Jokes (2019).
He has two sons, Zeno and Cosimo, born from his marriage to cellist Rocco Filippini.
